Abstract: In order to improve the appearance quality and sense quality of self bred variety Qinyan 96, a male sterile hybrid Qinyan 201 was bred by using MsYunyan 97 as female parent and Qinyan 96 as male parent. In the field the variety grew neatly and uniformly with strong vigor, and the leaves showed layered yellowing, and were easy to cure. The comprehensive disease resistance and economic characters were better than NC89; The appearance quality, chemical component coordinate and sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco were better than NC89, and the physical properties were similar to NC89. The comprehensive evaluation showed that Qinyan201 had good balance in quality, resistance, yield and adaptability, and was suitable for planting in northern tobacco areas.
