Abstract:
Based on metabolomics technology, cigar lines with high quality and high yield potential with rich metabolites related to good sensory quality were screened. The field agronomic characteristics of 7 cigar lines were investigated in Guidong, Hunan Province, and the differences of metabolic product composition and accumulation were analyzed. The results showed that QX104 and QX106 were superior to the other five lines in agronomic traits, with obvious advantages in leaf length, leaf width and number of available leaves, which were more in line with the planting purpose of high yield, and there were significant differences in metabolite accumulation levesl with other lines. Among the 183 metabolites qualitatively detected, 36% of the metabolites in QX104 and 24% in QX106 were up-regulated compared with the other lines. All the up-regulated metabolites were helpful in improving the smoking quality of tobacco leaves. The results showed that QX104 and QX106 had excellent agronomic properties and abundant organic acids, alcohols, and carbohydrate metabolites. They were cigar lines with high yield and high-quality production prospects in Hunan tobacco areas.
