Abstract:
Materials used in our experiment tobacco were cultivars K326 (Nicotiana tabacum L.cv, K326), Longjiang 911and BC-11; the number of glandular trichomes of sucrose ester was observed by stereomicroscope with the help of histochemical staining; in addition, the content of sucrose ester was measured. The inducement of different concentration of methyl jasmonate (MeJA )on Glandular Trichome density and Sucrose Ester content in tobacco leaves were also studied. The results showed that the content of sucrose ester and Glandular Trichome density in leaves decreased significantly after treated with four gradient concentration of MeJA (0.01 mmol/L, 0.1 mmol/L, 1.0 mmol/L and 4.0 mmol/L). The above-mentioned reaction of tobacco plants was advantageous for rational distribution costs which might be more favorable for producing powerful resistance to injurious insects.
