Abstract:
Maintenance of over-wintering population of Myzus persicae plays a vital role in mass rearing of Aphidius gifuensis. Numbers of M. persicae and weight of aphid mummies of A. gifuensis on 8 host plants in Yuxi of Yunnan Province were examined through inoculation of aphids and adult A.gifuensis respectively. The results showed that numbers of M. persicae and weight of mummified aphids of A. gifuensis were satisfactory feeding on oilseed rape, white radish and red radish, suggesting these three crops could be the suitable winter hosts of M. persicae for mass rearing of A. gifuensis.
