Abstract:
In order to explore the relationship between tobacco leaf cuticular components and leaf styles, we investigated the variations of tobacco leaf cuticular components from 5 different ecological regions and analyzed their effects on tobacco leaf styles. The results showed that there were considerable variations of tobacco leaf cuticular components, not only hydrocarbons, but also terpenes. Leaf cuticular components had some effect on leaf flavor style and remarkable effect on aroma quantity. Absence of leaf cuticular components resulted in partial absence of flavor style and decrease of aroma abundance.
