Abstract:
A comparative field experiment was carried out after rosette stage in Jinsha river valley in Lijiang to explore the effects of mulching on soil temperature, moisture, and growth and chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco. The results showed that mulching improved agronomic characters and promoted growth of tobacco; mulching could regulate soil temperature and reduce soil temperature difference, improve soil moisture content; mulching improved relative chlorophyll content, reduced total sugar and reducing sugar contents, but increased total nitrogen, nicotine, protein contents. Plastic film with straw mulching reduced soil temperature in film, overcomed high temperature of single plastic film mulching and low temperature of straw mulching, improve dsoil environment of root zone, maintaind and improved root vigor, and improved quality of tobacco.
