Abstract:
The correlations between altitudes and chemical constituents in leaves of tobacco were analyzed within the altitude of 500-1 600 m in Enshi. The results showed that the total sugar and reducing sugar content of tobacco leaves were positively related to the altitude, but the correlation between total alkaloids and altitudes was negative, and these effects were more in the upper and middle leaf than the lower leaf. In 800-1 400 m growing areas, most harmonic chemical components in tobacco leaves were found, thus the high quality tobacco leaves.
