    Optimum Molybdenum Rate for Flue-cured Tobacco in Qiannan Tobacco Area

    • In order to determine optimum molybdenum application rate for flue-cured tobacco, field experiments on growth, chemical components, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco were carried out in Qiannan tobacco area. The results showed that the contents of nicotine and total nitrogen decreased but the reducing sugar and total sugar increased with the increasing of molybdenum rates. The amounts of aroma components, yield and output value increased by molybdenum, and the ratio of variegated tobacco decreased. Based on the analysis on chemical components, aroma component, economic attributes and smoking evaluation of tobacco leaves, the optimum molybdenum rate was 80 mL (2 mg MoO3) per plant of special fertilizer dilution for flue-cured tobacco in Qiannan area.
