Abstract
In order to clarify the abundance characteristics of trace elements and risk assessments for heavy metals in soils in Zibo tobacco-planting region, 42 typical soil samples were collected in three tobacco planting areas in Zichuan, Boshan and Yiyuanareas. The concentrations of four kinds of trace elements (Ca, Mg, B and Mo) and 8 kinds of heavy metal elements (Cd, Hg, As, Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni and Zn) were measured, and the pollution risk was evaluated by the method of geoaccumulation index and nemerow index. The results showed that the soil pH in the three main tobacco production areas (Yiyuan, Boshan and Zibo) of Zibo was neutral in general, while the soil organic matter content was poor, and the available potassium content showed a medium to low status. The content of available phosphorus was in a rich and richer status; the overall contents of exchangeable calcium and exchangeable magnesium were very rich, and effective boron and effective molybdenum were at suitable levels. The evaluation results of the geoaccumulation index and Nemerow index showed that the soil heavy metals in Zibo tobacco areas are safe and suitable for high-quality tobacco planting.
