Abstract
The experiments were set up with Zhongyan100, the main variety planted in middle Henan in 2008, to investigate the intraleaf distribution of individual aromas, aiming to clarify different characteristics of aroma composition and distribution of flue-cured tobacco and to provide theoretical basis for using agronomic measures to promote the production of tobacco. The results showed that the content of carotenoid catabolite reached maximum at the middle of leaf and decrease from midrib to the ledges, the lowest contents located in the edge closed to the tip. For Mallard reaction compounds, the highest content was at the tip of leaf and the lowest value appeared at the middle portion. The distribution of aromatic amino acid catabolite was similar to the alkaloid distribution in the leaf, which increased from the midrib to the edges and the lowest content was located at the base area and the highest content located at the edge closed to the tip. For cembratriendiol catabolite, the highest content located the base area. The neophytadiene was higher at the middle area and the lower content was located at the edge and base area .
