Advance in Effect of Chloride on Flue-cured Tobacco Growth and Development and Leaf Quality

The research advance in tobacco chloride physiological functions, toxicity mechanism, influence factors of chloride uptake, circulation, distribution and accumulation in tobacco plants and effects on leaf quality and yield were reviewed. Chloride status in soils and tobacco leaves in China was analyzed. The techniques of rational application of chloride fertilizers for improvement of the tobacco leaf quality were proposed.
