A Preliminary Report on Flue-cured Tobacco Variety Trail

The growth periods, botanic characteristics, their yields, leaf qualities, and tastes of eight variety CF201, CF203, CF204, 6001, 5001，5007, CF205, and K326 ( CK ) were studied at Longshan, Hunan province. The maximum yield and value were observed at variety CF205. CF203 and CF204 had the highest proportions of top and middle class tobacco leaves. CF204、CF205、5001 possessed the best taste. Based on the yields and qualities, CF204 and CF205 should be recommended for further demonstration at Longshan.
