Relationship of soil moisture with tobacco growth and utilization of phosphorous fertilizer

The results of the experiment showed that leaf growth，yields and the utilization of phosphorous fertilizer were affected by soil moisture. Based on the leaf position, the effects of soil moisture on leaf growth were upper leaves > middle leaves > lower leaves. The more severe the drought was, the more seriously the leaf growth,yields and utilization of phosphorous fertilizer were affected. The effects of severe drought on tobacco was biggest in late growing season，smaller in middle season，no or very weak in early season.
