Selection and Utilization of Germplasm Material for Anti-TMV Flue-cured Tobacco

Totally 27 flue-cured tobacco varieties and 18 hybrid combinations in F1 generation were tested for tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) resistance, which screened out 2 immune varieties(8021, 8022), 12 resistant varieties ( 82501, Liaoyang10, Liaoyang13 etc.), 7 immune hybrids, 19 resistant hybrids, and showed a distinct mid-parent heterosis. The heredity of TMV resistance was trend to the parent with higher resistance, and the phenotypes of TMV resistance were varied: TMV sensitive varieties were attacked earlier, while TMV resistant varieties were late.
