Abstract:
In order to reduce cost and achieve sustainable in direct sowing of flue-cured tobacco, the feasibility of composted cottonseed hulls and wheat straw replacement of straw ash was investigated by seedbed experiments. The result showed that the major biological and physiological indices of tobacco plants were better or close to in treatment with 60% composting cottonseed hulls +30% topsoil+10% fine sand medium than those with the traditional medium. Agronomic attributes and physiological index with new treatment were coordinated and reached high quality seeding standard. The new medium basically met the requirement for direct sowing, and can replace the traditional medium.
