Abstract:
The liquid priming method was used to study the effects of hydrogen peroxide, as an oxygen-increasing reagent, used in combination with GA3 priming of Honghuadajinyuan and Yunyan 97 seeds. Different concentrations of H
2O
2 were combined with 50 mg/L GA3 in priming tobacco seeds. The results showed that the priming solution contained hydrogen peroxide had better effects with significantly improved seed vigor. After treating with the priming solution with higher hydrogen oxygen (GA3+25~100 mM H
2O
2) concentrations, seed germination index and vigor index were significantly increased, and the average germination time was significantly shortened. The highest seed vigor was achieved by seed priming with GA3 in combination with 50 mM H
2O
2 solution. The results suggested that priming with suitable concentrations of hydrogen peroxide could greatly improve tobacco seed vigor and simplify the device of priming.
