Abstract: The new flue-cured tobacco variety Xiangyan 6 is a hybrid of male sterile generation bred with MS Xiangyan no. 1 as the maternal parent and GY07 as the male parent. It was approved by the National Tobacco Variety Approval Committee in 2018. The plant type structure of this variety was reasonable, and the plants in the field was orderly and consistent, the growth was strong at the middle stage in the field, and the number of recoverable leaves was the same as K326. Leave showed layered yellowing, easy for flue-curing; Its comprehensive economic characters were significantly better than the control K326, and similar to yunyan 87.The chemical composition is coordinated, the original smoke appearance quality is good, and the feeling quality is good; The variety has moderate resistance to bacterial wilt, moderate resistance to black shank disease, moderate resistance to root knot nematode disease, moderate resistance to red star disease, TMV, moderate resistance to CMV, and moderate resistance to PVY, with overall disease resistance better than K326. This variety is suitable for planting in Hunan, Guangdong and other tobacco areas.
