Abstract:
In order to obtain new flue-cured tobacco varieties with high quality, suitable yield and tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) resistance, Longyan101 was bred with Longjiang925 as the female parent and CV91 as the male parent using classical breeding selection methods. The new variety was certified by the National Tobacco Variety Examination and Approval Committee in September, 2020. The results of variety tests showed that the genetic characters of Longyan 101 were stable and the continuous cropping plants grew strongly with reasonable plant structure and population structure in the field. Longyan101 showed equal disease resistance to NC89, being immunized with TMV, moderately resistant to black shank and certain resistant to target spot disease, sensitive to bacterial wilt, CMV and PVY. The main economic characters and appearance of Longyan101 were better than NC89, chemical composition and sensory quality evaluation were equal to NC89. In summary, Longyan101 could be widely planted in the northeast tobacco-growing area with better resistance to TMV, better quality and better economic benefits.
