Abstract:
In order to quide soil sulfur quality management and rational application of sulfur fertilizer in Chongqing tobacco-growing area, based on the survey data of tobacco-growing soil in Chongqing in 2002 and 2012, and the data of 2,513 soil available sulfur in 11 tobacco-growing counties in Chongqing in 2021, the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of available sulfur content in tobacco-growing soil in Chongqing in 2021, as well as its influencing factors were comprehensively analyzed. The results showed that in 2002, 2012 and 2021, the available sulfur content of tobacco-growing soil in Chongqing was 34.24, 51.40 and 45.30 mg/kg, respectively, which increased first and then decreased. The proportion of suitable sulfur areas in Chongqing tobacco-growing soil was only 14.69%, and the proportion of sulfur deficiency areas and sulfur excess areas were 29.61% and 55.70%, respectively. The contents of available sulfur in different parent materials, soil classes and subclasses are significantly different, and the content of available sulfur in tidal soil is the highest. Altitude, available potassium content and soil pH are the key factors affecting the content of available sulfur in soil, and available potassium can independently explain 10.30% of the variation of available sulfur in soil, suggesting that attention should be paid to the effect of potassium sulfate application on the content of sulfur in soil. In order to ensure the production of high-quality tobacco leaves, the application amount of sulfur-containing fertilizer should be reasonably adjusted in each tobacco area according to the local actual situation.
