Abstract:
To clarify the relationship between the main chemical components and physical properties of cigar tobacco leaves, a correlation analysis was conducted on the main chemical components and physical properties of 141 cigar tobacco leaves from 9 production areas in 4 major cigar tobacco leaves production areas in China. The results indicate as the follows: (1)There are extensive variations in the main chemical components and physical properties of cigar tobacco leaves among samples, with a variation range of 12.07%~113.56%、9.84%~27.99%, respectively. (2) The results of the analysis of variance indicate that there are significant differences in the main chemical components and physical properties of cigar tobacco leaves among different production areas. (3) Canonical correlation analysis shows that the equilibrium moisture content of cigar tobacco leaves is significantly positively correlated with the content of total nitrogen, potassium, and chlorine of tobacco leaves; Leaf surface density is significantly negatively correlated with potassium content in tobacco leaves, and significantly positively correlated with the content of total alkaloids and total nitrogen. Leaf width and mass per leaf are significantly negatively correlated with the protein content, and significantly positively correlated with total alkali content. The variations of equilibrium moisture content, leaf surface density, leaf width, and mass per leaf in cigar leaves can better reflect the variations of total nitrogen, potassium, chlorine, total alkaloids, and protein of cigar tobacco leaves. Compared to simple correlation analysis, canonical correlation analysis is more suitable for revealing the intrinsic correlation between the main chemical components and physical properties of cigar tobacco leaves.
