Abstract:
Abstract: Soil and tobacco leaf samples were collected from 111 tobacco planting sites in Linyi, Shandong Province. Soil nutrient contents were tested and leaf quality was analyzed to investigate the relationships between tobacco leaf quality and soil nutrient contents. The results showed that soil nutrient contents varied with locations, pre-crops, and soil types. Overall nutrient status in Linyi was sufficient to tobacco growth, and could meet the requirements of high quality tobacco production. The smoking quality and inner quality of leaf tobacco were relatively high. Enhanced technical supports, soil improvement and rational fertilization could further increase the tobacco production in this region, and make prominent features of local tobacco leaf.
