Abstract:
Axillary bud formation involves many regulatory genes, one of key factors belongs to the plant specific protein family GRAS. Mutation or function missing of these genes would affect the axillary formation. The tobacco NtLS gene (EU935581) was cloned by RACE technology in our lab. The sequences of NtLS are highly similar to those of LS/LAS/MOC1, which regulate the formation of axillary meristems. The interference fragments were chosen from NtLS and the RNAi expression vectors were constructed and transformed into Nicotiana tabacum W38 by agrobacterium-mediated leaf disc transformation methods, to form basis for further study of NtLS function.
