Abstract:
Field experiments, chemical analysis and sensory test were carried out to study the effects of different nitrogen fertilizer rates on the growth period, yield, quality and style of flue-cured tobacco leaves. The results showed that, growth period, economic character, appearance, chemical composition, sensory test results and style of flue-cured tobacco were influenced remarkably by different rates of nitrogen applied. Plant growth period prolonged obviously; the yield, weight per leaf, total nitrogen content and nicotine content increased evidently; total sugar content, reducing sugar content, the ratio of reducing sugar to nicotine and total nitrogen to nicotine decreased, and the delicate aroma style of flue-cured leaves was weakened with the increasing nitrogen rates. The increase of value of product wasn’t distinct while the nitrogen amount exceeded 78 kg/hm
2. Chemical composition, appearance and sensory test results were better; the delicate aroma style of flue-cured leaves was distinct, with the nitrogen applying from 58.5 to 97.5 kg/hm
