Abstract:
An orthogonal test of L
9 (3
4) designed for a new flue-cured tobacco cultivar KRK26 introduced from Zimbabwe was performed in two locations, Xuan'en, Enshi and Fangxian, Shiyan located in the main tobacco leaf production regions of Hubei province in 2009. The objective of this study was to produce scientific basis for planting KRK26 by a greater scale. The results showed that trait performance and tobacco leaf quality were affected significantly by ecological environment. In this study, nitrogen fertilization was the most influential factor in all of three factors, including nitrogen fertilization, ratio of N, P
2O
5 and K
2O and number of tobacco leaves left in the mature plant. The best factor combination, namely, the best cultivation technology combination for KRK26 in the two locations was summarized. The most appropriate nitrogen fertilization, ratio of N, P
2O
5 and K
2O and number of tobacco leaves left in the mature plant is 6 kg/667m
2, 1:1.5:3.5 and 22 leaves per plant in Xuan'en; 5 kg/667 m
2, 1:1.0:3.0 to 1:1.5:3.5 and 24 to 26 leaves per plant in Fangxian.
