Abstract:
In order to explore the relationship between tobacco soil nutrients and soil parent materials,79 soil samples from tobacco growing areas in Linqu and Mengyin were analyzed. The results indicated that the average contents of nutrients in surface soil in Linqu were total N 1.14 g/kg, total P 0.68 g/kg, total K 25.0 g/kg, hydrolytic N 75.49 mg/kg, available P 33.43 mg/kg, available K 186.1 mg/kg. Few of the samples were K deficient. The average contents of nutrient in surface soil in Mengyin were total N 0.73 g/kg, total P 0.54 g/kg, total K 19.6 g/kg, hydrolytic N 61.54 mg/kg, available P 33.36 mg/kg, available K 123.2 mg/kg, few of the samples were N deficient, half of the samples were K deficient. The vertical distribution of soil nutrients in Linqu and Mengyin were essentially the same. Total N, total P, hydrolytic N, available P and available K contents decreased with soil depths. Total K content was essentially the same across soil layers. Soils developed from Shale parent material had high nutrient contents. Soils developed from Limestone parent material were thick and each layer had high nutrient contents. Soils developed from Granite parent material and Sandstone parent material were thin and each layer had lower nutrient contents.
