Abstract:
This study analyzed the difference of tobacco leaf glandular trichome density of coronas and cutters among different burley tobacco varieties. Results showed that long-stem glandular trichome, short-stem glandular trichome and non-cell glandular trichome took most part of all glandular trichome. The density of all types of glandular trichome was different in burley tobacco varieties, also in different-positioned leaves of the same variety as well as in upper or lower epidermis in the same positioned tobacco leaves. The density of total glandular trichome in cutters was more than that in coronas. For coronas, the variety of JB04-05 had more glandular trichome than other eight varieties in upper-epidermis. In lower-epidermis, the varieties of 22081 and 23014 had more glandular trichome density than others. Compared to Eyan1, which had the least glandular trichome density, the varieties of 22084 and JB04-05 had the more glandular trichome in coronas. For cutters, the varieties of 22081 and 22084 had more glandular thichome in upper-epidermis than other varieties. The varieties of 22074, 22081 and 22084 had more glandular trichome density on lower or upper and lower epidermis.
