Abstract:
A strain of Spodoptera litura nucleopolyhedrovirus (SpliNPV) isolated in Chenzhou was investigated on morphology, genomic restriction endonuclease analysis and biological activity assay. By using a scanning electron microscope, its polyhedra were found between 1.5-2.5 μm in diameter. By using TEM, it was found each virion particle included 2-7 nucleocapsids. SpliNPV Chenzhou strain genome was analyzed by restriction endonuclease and compared with a Guangzhou strain, they had a similar profile. When assayed on 3r instar of Spodoptera litura larvae, the half-lethal concentration of SpliNPV Chenzhou strain and Guangzhou strain were 1.8×106 OBs/mL and 4.2×106 OBs/mL, respectively, they were not significantly different each other.
