Abstract:
A total of 236 tobacco-planting soil samples were collected from 8 tobacco-planting regions in 2005 and 2006. Soil nutrient contents were determined for these samples. The results showed that the pH values of Baise soils was appropriate to tobacco growth, soil organic matter content was high, the soil available N and P were slightly high, but available K was insufficient. Soil exchangeable Ca and available S were sufficient, but Mg is slightly low. Therefore, it is necessary to control N and P fertilizer, apply K fertilizer and Mg to improve tobacco growth
